Define Power

Define power. Power as an act, is the ability to change. Power in politics is the power to change or withstand the tides of change. Strength, force, persuasion, skill, ability, goals. All of these are elements of power. And finally: control. To control change or the lack thereof, is the fundamental effect of Power. Thus in summary, for a human, the ability to control both inside and out is the ultimate definition of Power.

Can you change the world? If you can change yourself. Do you want to change yourself? Only if you feel that is the Way. Can you find the Way? That is what life is for.

Social empowerment says that all people have the power to change. It just takes special people to help those who feel helpless realize what power lies within themselves. In times of old, these people were called Sages.

A few weeks ago I tweeted something like this: Just bought the sikkest jacket off a hobo #fashionistahobo.

This guy actually agreed to pose for me. Now I can at least honestly say I shot the sikkest jacket off a hobo. I have no definitive proof this guy is a hobo… but…

Hopefully he doesn’t mind being called one. If he does, I’ll call him Striker instead. Sounds cooler than hobo doesn’t it?

Ok fine, the jacket itself is the only part that belongs to Striker-san (I don’t know his actual name). The word logo on the jacket is actually a design I made based on the pre-existing design on his jacket. I didn’t want to accidentally have someone sue me for copyright infringement so I decided to fix it up a little… And then it turned into this. I could still get sued for copyright infringement… Someone do me a favor. Steal this design from me. You don’t even have to tell me. If I see it on the streets one day, I’ll know where it came from and that’s all that matters.

Hi My name is Alice Ying Shan. This is my first blog post. I originally put a story about the above photo, but then thought it was too boring so now I’m changing it… Long story short, it’s me with make-up on for first time, and hair’s supposed to be like Chun Li’s but everybody at school wound up thinking I was trying to dress up like Princess Leila… but whatever.

Right now I am a 25 year old Chinese-American girl living with her parents in the suburbs. I have a goal of one day moving out, but with the economy as it is that might be a long time coming. I love my parents and all, but sometimes living with parents can be a drag… especially when they have a tendency to be overprotective sometimes.
